ISTR NOVEMBER SYMPOSIUM and AGM

Health and Safety in Travel and Transport

Wednesday 23rd - Thursday 24th November 2022

As post-pandemic travel recommences, this year's symposium will focus on health and safety in travel and transport. Bringing members and guests together in the National Railway Museum Conference Centre, we will hold our autumn symposium in York for the first time. Speakers will join us from higher education, private and public sectors. Topics will include travel risk assessment, emergency response, relocation of research facilities and transporting samples.

We will host a drinks reception and Symposium Dinner on the first evening, in the atmospheric surroundings of the Museum’s Station Hall. The Station Hall’s stunning collection spans over a century of railway history and includes prestigious royal carriages, including Queen Victoria’s personal saloon.

On the second day, the ISTR Annual General Meeting will be held at 14:00, after the main symposium concludes. All members are encouraged to attend the AGM and share in the discussion and shaping the future of your organisation.

Conference themes and confirmed speakers are outlined in the Programme below:

Themes:

  • Relocation of facilities and research programme
  • Travel risk management
  • Travel and transport of dangerous goods, including import and export

Tickets are more limited than for our previous symposia, so we encourage you to make the most of this opportunity to meet and network with ISTR members and other safety professionals, at our first in person event since 2019. Book your place today!
